Privacy statement

This statement is about the icares.nl website. It explains which data we process about you, why we do that and what you can change about it.

Last updated: 13 August 2026

Who is responsible

Icares B.V., based at Schimmelt 26, 5611 ZX Eindhoven in the Netherlands, is responsible for processing your data on this website.

  • Chamber of Commerce number: 18086033
  • Email: info@icares.com
  • Phone: +31 (0)40 239 55 90

What we collect

This website places no cookies. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar statistics package. The only thing we count is how often the two test buttons on the home page are clicked. We store nothing about you when we do, so no profile of you is built up.

We only process data you leave behind yourself:

The contact form

If you fill in the form, we receive your name, email address, your organisation if you enter one, the subject and your message. That data reaches us as an email.

  • Why: to answer your question and get in touch with you.
  • Legal basis: your request for contact, and our legitimate interest in being able to answer questions.
  • How long: two years after the last contact.

Server logs

Our server records which pages are requested, along with your IP address, the time and your browser type. That is needed to keep the site working and to recognise misuse. We do not use this data to track you.

  • Legal basis: legitimate interest, namely a working and secure website.
  • How long: thirty days.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell your data and do not pass it on for advertising. These parties process data because they are part of the website:

PartyWhat forWhere
Hetzner Online GmbHThe server the website runs onGermany
CombellSending and receiving emailBelgium
GoogleThe map on the contact page, only after your consentUnited States
jsDelivr and FlagcdnMap data and flags on the homepageWorldwide network

With the last two, your IP address goes to that service because your browser fetches a file there. No cookies are placed and nothing about you is stored. There is more about this in the cookie policy.

The map on the contact page

The map comes from Google and places cookies. That is why we only load it once you choose to. If you do not, no request goes to Google at all and you simply see our address with an ordinary link.

The Icares platform

This statement is about the website. If you log in to the platform, separate agreements apply there. If you work through your school or employer, that organisation is responsible for your data and we are the processor. In that case we sign a data processing agreement with your organisation setting out what we may do with the data. Ask your contact person at your school or employer for it.

Security

The website is only reachable over a secure connection and email is sent encrypted. Access to incoming messages is limited to the staff handling the question.

Your rights

You can always ask us for:

  • access to the data we hold about you;
  • correction of data that is wrong;
  • deletion of your data;
  • restriction of the processing;
  • your data in a usable file;
  • objection to the processing.

Send your request to info@icares.com. We reply within a month. If you disagree with how we handle it, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Changes

If the website changes, we update this statement. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
