Icares.com in a new look
You may have noticed already: Icares.com has been completely renewed. The new website is not only more modern and more interactive, it above all offers far more information about Icares and our instruments.
You will now find an extensive page about Quest, a dedicated page for teachers, articles and much more. That makes the website a better place to discover what Icares has to offer.
And logging in? That stays familiar. The login button is still in the top right of the home page and nothing about the system itself has changed. Only the web address now has platform. in front of it. Have you saved pages in your favourites? Save them again using platform.icares.com.

Citizenship in development
At Icares we are working on something new: our own citizenship method. The method is still very much in development, but it will work in a similar way to Quest and can also be taken together with Quest under a single licence.
With the new method we want to support schools in offering citizenship education in a practical and accessible way. We will tell you more about the content, the possibilities and the availability soon.
Your experience on our new website?
Now that our new website is online, we would also like to give our customers the floor. On Icares.com you will therefore find reviews from professionals and organisations who work with our instruments. And as far as we are concerned, there is room for many more.
Do you work with Icares and would you like to share your experience on our website? We would love to hear from you! Send an email to jim-luca@icares.com or call us on 040 239 5590. Your story may soon be among the reviews.
Not every profession offers the same prospects
Every year, the labour market information department (AMI) of the UWV draws up a list of professions with good prospects. In Icares Professional these are marked with a separate icon and can be selected. For the first time, the UWV is now also indicating professions with poor prospects. For these, the description states: Please note: the UWV classifies this profession as having poor prospects.
Which professions are these? All translators, but also the data entry clerk (typist), the photographer, photographic designer and photojournalist. The outlook is not bright for the graphic artist, graphic designer, graphic formgiver and illustrator either. Working with animals also brings quite a few professions into this category: dog groomer, animal carer, groom, dog walker, riding school assistant and laboratory animal carer.
It is clear that working with AI is part of the explanation. That is especially true for language and creative professions. In addition, some professions are too popular, which creates a lot of competition and makes it hard to find work. The animal carer is one example. We are curious how many professions will be marked as having poor prospects next year.

Icares training
After the summer there is another training course on the calendar. On Thursday 1 October we are running a course for Icares Professional.
